The most interesting comment thread I’ve seen in a long time: Matthew Yglesias’ post about the movie Fight Club, at ThinkProgress. What does it mean? Why do people like it? It’s about feminism and masculinity in our culture, and a dozen other things.
Fascinating comments, a discussion better than the post (as usual at Yglesias’ website). I have not seen the movie, nor is it relevant (I think) to the FM website. I recommend that you take a look.
It does raise a relevant point: how did Yglesias develop such a great comment section? Active, diverse outlooks, a high proportion of informed comments, and unmoderated — yet with mostly civil, brief comments.
