I have written 37 posts about RussiaGate since the first in July 2016. Three things were obvious from its early days. First, none of the explanations made sense (details here and here). Second, this story was large beyond imagining (see here and here). Third, eventually somebody would assemble the pieces and the result might change America. Time has proven the first two theories to be correct. Now the time comes to test the third.
Lincoln forged a new America in the fires of the Civil War. FDR forged a new America in the fires of the Great Depression and WWII. LBJ and Nixon (yes, Nixon), the two greatest Liberal presidents in modern times, seized the moment to reshape American society. Bush Jr. seized the moment after 9/11 to reshape America (details here and here).
Trump’s years might have a massive impact on America, big and perhaps equal to those periods. For generations, the Deep State has built its power. In the past three years, it has emerged into the sunlight – an unavoidable side-effect of its efforts to prevent Trump’s election or cripple his administration. One of its minions even wrote an op-ed in its tame newspaper, the NY Times to explain their actions. This is potentially big news – if we choose to see it.
More importantly, over three years Democrats and their journalist allies erected an edifice of leaks and guesses. It convinced a large minority of the public that Trump was guilty of assorted crimes, from obstruction of justice and collusion up to treason. Now all of that has collapsed. Only the hardcore “resistance”, immune to facts and logic, still believe (they’re the Left’s equivalent to the “birthers”). This too is revelatory about how US politics really works.
This is information of the kind that can change the fate of nations.
At last, we see the full puzzle
The best analysis of the legal aspects of RussiaGate have been written by Andrew McCarthy (former Deputy US Marshall and Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of New York). He has explained the investigation, the legal aspects, and the politics.
But he did so over three years in scores of articles – all of which were draped in uncertainty. Few, perhaps nobody, on the outside could see the full picture.
Now the Mueller report has supplied most – but not all – all of the questions. All that remains is to assemble the pieces and see the picture. McCarthy has done that for us, producing an entertaining book that will be one of the important milestones of this age.

Conclusions
So far RussiaGate has been only a partial success for the Democrats and their Deep State allies. The US public has learned skepticism after generations of lies about vital matters by high officials – and largely ignored RussiaGate during the election and thereafter. But RussiaGate crippled Trump in the vital first years of his term.
But none of that has a long-time significance. What is the difference between citizens and subjects? The former assume responsibility for their nation. We have been apathetic as our elites gathered America’s power and wealth to themselves. Will the revelations of RussiaGate spur us to anger, added to the many other revelations in recent years? To action?
If this does not spur us to act, what will?

Since the Deep State failed miserably on both counts, perhaps we should worry less about it.

First, it did not fail “miserably”. Trump got into office by a hair-thin margin (he lost the popular vote by several million votes). And they successfully crippled his administration.
Second, even if that was true (it’s not) – everybody fails occasionally. That does not mean that they are weak, just human.
The biggest thing for me was the “Anonymous” letter in the NYT. That should have set alarm bells off on both sides as it confirmed the government is really run by shadowy, unelected personnel who take their marching orders from other shadowy, unelected persons.
For the last couple of generations, our federal government has maintained a path of continued violence against a majority of its citizenry that includes endless wars, monopolization of power, concentration of wealth and disregard of any adherence to the rule of law. No wonder the level of apathy amongst the populace has risen to such a high level.
I still remain optimistic we can change but it must come from below, from the people themselves, to finally rise up with one voice and say, “Enough!”

Could anyone specify what that means? Does that mean a kind of GJ (Yellow Vests) protests (BTW leading nowhere) or, while we still with France, a French Revolution of 1789? With all those “rivers of green blood” (in France it was blue blood, blue for noblety, while in America it would be of the color of money…)
I truly tried to imagine a spontaneous uprising of all “lower classes” against the top 1% — nothing come to fruition in my mind but violence.

Because her support is microscopic. Every party has to have a process to winnow the number of candidates down to a manageable number. For most of our history that was done by Party leaders. Now it is done by open primaries.
Thinking that the debates are the key party of elections is delusional.

I know you are uninformed, but even you must realize that she has access to the ballots in all 50 states just like everybody else.
It is bigger than just the Deep State, but includes the larger global oligarchy, all launched in conjunction with the DNC.
At first it seemed it was merely an excuse to not have the Democrats do a real introspection as to why Hillary lost. It seemed so petty to blame the Russians, etc.
Then we had PropOrNot from the WaPo, labeling any website or news source that didn’t support the collusion hoax as Russian propaganda. It now shows the Mockingbird Media has continued long after it was officially ended.
We now know Hillary’s blaming the Russians was mere smoke to hide the Obama administration’s crimes and to aid in the coup attempt.
In effect, these people are so indifferent to the nation that they would risk destroying the country to maintain power. We all better pray Trump succeeds or it will soon be the SHTF moment when all bets are off.

Be careful about guessing people’s internal lives. My guess (guess) based on history is that they do not believe that their activities will “destroy the country.” That’s easy to imagine, since I don’t believe that either.
I’ve been reading McCarthy’s coverage of this for a long time, and agree that he’s done excellent work. (So has Mark Wauck). I want to read his book, but we’re desperately shorthanded at work right now. But I’ll take exception to this excerpt from Hillary Ruins The Plan
This brings ti mind something that Philip Agee pointed out in his memoir Inside The Company. In discussing his training, he says that the Agency considered all covert action operations to be compromised by definition, because you were changing, or seeking to change, something in the observable world. The most you could do was deny that you were behind whatever it was. I think that if you view the Russia Hoax as a covert action operation taking place in America, it’s not so very different from covert action operations that have been mounted overseas. The American government could deny that it was behind the overthrow of Arbenz in Honduras. Those weren’t our Cuban gunmen, nosiree. To what extent this denial was ever really plausible is beside the point.
This was a large complex operation with a lot of moving parts, and I don’t think it was ever going to be possible to hide what was being done. Too many people had to be involved, not all of them Americans. Maybe if Trump had folded when he was shown that dossier, but the dossier couldn’t withstand even cursory examination. One way or another, people would know what had really happened, just as everyone knew what had happened to Arbenz. (And they would later know when the same sort of thing was tried on Castro.)
The operative assumption then, was that, as with covert actions overseas, which are compromised by definition, most Americans would quietly approve, or simply not care,
The “black” ops would have been launched against many of the 2016 GOP contenders. Rubio or Cruz or Huckabee or Santorum would each have been targeted with some kind of COINTELPRO scam. The operatives were in place.

I doubt that. The other GOP candidates in 2016 were orthodox in their foreign policy views, which were similar to those of Democrat’s candidates.
